NAET (Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques) was developed by Dr. Devi Nambudripad in 1983. This holistic approach integrates principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Chiropractic care, and Kinesiology to identify and eliminate allergies.
NAET is based on the idea that allergic reactions stem from energy blockages in the body when it perceives certain substances as harmful. By using a combination of Acupressure, Muscle Testing, and Stimulation of Key Meridian Points, NAET helps reprogram the body's response, reducing or eliminating allergic sensitivities. Dr. Nambudripad, a licensed Medical Doctor, Acupuncturist, and Chiropractor with a PhD in Acupuncture, developed this safe, non-invasive technique to restore balance and promote overall well-being.
Energy is a fundamental concept in both Eastern and Western medicine. In Western practices, tools like ECGs measure the heart’s electrical activity, while brainwave scans monitor neural signals. Eastern medicine also acknowledges the body's energy system, emphasizing how external factors like food, pollen, and environmental elements can disrupt its natural flow, leading to dysfunction.
Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches that energy (qi) moves through pathways called meridians, supporting organ function and overall balance. When these pathways are disrupted—due to factors like fatigue, diet, or emotional and physical stress—it can manifest as allergies and other health issues. NAET detects and corrects these energy blockages, restoring balance and addressing the root causes of allergic reactions.
An allergy is a damaging immune response triggered by exposure to a substance. Allergies often target the body’s weakest areas. For instance, someone with asthma may experience symptoms concentrated in the lungs.
Allergies are associated with a histamine response, which can manifest as hives, rashes, itching, breathing difficulties, or, in severe cases, anaphylaxis. Beyond physical symptoms, allergies can weaken the immune system and contribute to mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

Diagnosis:
We use muscle response testing (applied kinesiology) to identify substances the body is allergic to. The patient holds the suspected allergen while the practitioner tests muscle strength.
Treatment:
Once an allergen is identified, we use acupressure or acupuncture along the spine and meridian points while the patient holds the allergen. This process reprograms the body to no longer react negatively to the substance, clearing the energy blockage by activating the meridians located along the spine.
Follow-Up:
Multiple sessions may be required to address the different allergens as they cannot all be cleared at once.
Blocked energy impacts muscle strength and overall function. Through a technique called muscle testing, I assess your body’s response to specific energies. By exposing you to the energy of an allergen and testing muscle strength, we can identify areas where energy is blocked.
Beyond physical reactions to allergens, NAET often explores emotional triggers and their connections to the body's responses, recognizing that unresolved emotions can contribute to energy disruptions.
Treatment involves gentle acupressure on specific acupuncture points to release blockages and restore balance. Similar to acupuncture, where needles open gates along energy pathways, this method encourages energy to flow freely, helping to alleviate symptoms on both a physical and emotional level.
Emotional Root of Allergies:
When treating physical ailments, including allergies, there may be an emotional component. Negative emotions, stress, or past traumas can disrupt the body's energy flow, potentially triggering sensitivities or allergic reactions.
Balancing the Nervous System:
By stimulating acupuncture points (with or without needles), NAET aims to reset the body’s stress responses, helping to calm the nervous system and reduce emotional overwhelm.
Muscle Response Testing (MRT):
NAET uses MRT to identify emotional or physical blockages related to specific allergens or experiences. This process can uncover subconscious emotional patterns.
Desensitization and Release:
The treatment involves clearing the body’s negative associations with particular triggers (foods, substances, or emotions). Over time, patients often report not just fewer allergies but also improvements in emotional well-being.
Strengthening Mind-Body Connection:
By addressing imbalances holistically, NAET encourages individuals to become more attuned to their body and emotions, fostering long-term emotional resilience.

Trauma and PTSD:
Emotional trauma can manifest physically, including as sensitivities or allergies. NAET can help release stored emotional energy, promoting healing.
Anxiety and Stress Management:
Through calming the body’s energy systems and addressing emotional triggers, NAET can help alleviate chronic stress and anxiety.
Improved Emotional Regulation:
Many patients report feeling more balanced, grounded, and less reactive after undergoing NAET treatments.
Integrating NAET with Other Modalities:
NAET works well alongside other emotional healing techniques such as psychotherapy, mindfulness, or energy healing. While NAET addresses the energetic and physical aspects, other methods can further explore the psychological layers.
